The Olive Grove
All along the 175 ha of olive grove, one can find the Cobrançosa, Galega and Cordovil de Serpa varieties planted on clay-loam soils in a Mediterranean climate.
Olive Oil and Alentejo
The connection between the culture of olive oil and Alentejo is an old one.
The gastronomy and archaeological sources attest to it.
Mediterranean Diet
Olive oil is the main and most differentiating element of the Mediterranean Diet, one of the healthiest diets in the world.
It was declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2012.
The Olive Mill
The Figueirinha Olive Mill was inaugurated in 2006 and is distinguished by its proximity to the olive grove, allowing a rapid delivery of olives for transformation and delicate cold extraction of 100% of olive juice. Crucial steps towards the preservation of all the aromas and qualities of the fruit are taken.
And the most distinguishing factor is the team.
Varieties
Based on the Galega Vulgar, Cordovil de Serpa and Cobrançosa varieties and the combination of its several maturation stages, Figueirinha Estate olive oil has a green and fruity aroma, with a spicy touch.
In its composition are green olives – to feel a fresh, delicate and somewhat spicy aroma at the start – and ripe fruits to feel a velvety and pleasant taste in the end.
“A poet planted the word olive tree on the sheet of paper.
Then kneaded the sheet and watched the poem happening a thick green oozed that drew the word olive oil in just a verse.”
– Maria Raposo
