FONTE MOURO Garrafeira 2003 Red

Legend has it that Fonte Mouro (Moor Fountain), near Beja, has its origin in the forbidden love story of a young Moorish girl that turned into a fountain, and a young Christian boy turned into a snake, so that the young couple could never again feel the touch of their love.

Tasting

Intense ruby coloured wine, with an aroma of red fruits, tobacco leaves, mature tannins, which confers to it a good structure with and acidity that allows it to have a great longevity.

Gastronomy

Accompanies meat dishes and cheeses at the ideal temperature of 16ºC to 18ºC.

Varieties

Trincadeira, Aragonez and Alicante Bouschet.

Vinification

Vinified by the traditional process of maceration in stainless steel vats with fermentation temperatures around 28ºC and aged for 12 months on barrels of French oak.

Analysis

Alcohol content: 14% vol.
Total acidity: 6,5 g/L tartaric acid.
Total sugars: 3,8 g/L
PH: 3,48
